YOUNG VISITORS

The Music Museum's educational activities have been an important part of the museum for many years. We offer different programs for visitors of all ages.
The aim is to
- awaken the visitor's curiosity and interest
- focus on the connection mankind - music
- illustrate our musical heritage
- cast light the wide spectrum of information that can be found in the museum's
collections
- understand our society and its history through music
- give a pleasant and interesting experience to all our visitors

Pre-schools
With musical activities the Music Museum wants to stimulate children's musical expression and natural curiosity.
Communication and cooperation is trained with music, dance and movement, mostly in the exhibition Klåjnk.
The Music Museum offers different programs for children four days a week.
There are also special programs for disabled in the exhibition Lirum.

Schools
Music, as a tool for identity and a reflection of society, is central in the everyday life of young people. As a tool for identity and also as a reflection of society, it plays an indispensable role.
The educational programs in the exhibitions raise questions and encourage musical experimentation.
During the school terms we offer programs with live music, workshops etc for all school levels.

Concerts for all ages
The Music Museum arranges special concerts for families. The programs are often interactive and suit family groups of all ages.

Guided tours for all ages
On certain weekends the Music Museum arranges guided tours for families in the exhibitions.
During the annual Autumn Market, Instrument's Day (an annual one-day event focused on one particular instrument) etc, there are workshops in Musikverkstan (The Music Workshop) where visitors can build simple instruments.
Both guided tours and workshops are suitable for family groups.
